Drawn from the trefoil window above Luther Memorial Church’s high altar, our logo symbolizes the complex mystery and majesty of the triune God, in whose name so much of the music we present was created.
Luther Memorial Concert Series makes memorable experiences of the arts available to the Erie community through musical presentations and educational outreach programs. All events are open to the public, and take place in the inspiring architectural setting of Luther Memorial Church, whose acoustics are ideal for making and listening to music. The Series has been in operation since 1980, and is funded through the generosity of season subscribers and free-will offerings.

What We Do

We believe art feeds the spirit

Our logo

The Concert Series offers members and visitors to Luther Memorial Church a wealth of opportunities to join in fellowship, experience moving performances, and witness to the power of music in each of our lives. Our credo celebrates the gifts given to us by our Creator and Redeemer, capturing Martin Luther’s theology of music: “When man’s natural musical ability is whetted and polished to the extent that it becomes an art, then do we note with great surprise the great and perfect wisdom of God in music….” (from the foreword to Georg Rhau’s collection, Symphoniae Iucundae).
